![]() Taking care to mention the year as though it was an amazing bottle of vintage wine. I still talk about it as though it was a fine wine. I plan to buy a olive drab one and make it my run and gun bag for when the SHTF.ģ – Timbuk2 – Classic Messenger 2013 (SMALL) My personal Hazard 4 Plan B is now being put through the paces with Yavor. That was one of the striking negatives that caused me to lower the bag out of regular rotation and kept it in situational rotation. With all the molle, the tactical look, the care taken by the designer in making sure that it was fit for service, it made a regular civilian wandering around NYC look as though he was ready to storm a building with guns blazing. ![]() ![]() But, there was one major setback to the bag. I carried it for a few years and it cycled in and out of rotation and always took to the task at hand like a champ. The thing is literally covered with molle, giving it a very modular flexibility. With its well-built exterior and the mission-purpose design, the Hazard 4 Plan B was a bag that really was like a buddy that got your back ALL THE TIME. The Hazard 4 Plan B bridged the gap between the military style bags with sling bags that offered a specialty size that made it stand out from the rest. It gave us multiple looks in how we can organize and it opened the door to what the military bag companies can offer over the civilian markets. Yet, with this glaring weakness, we found the bag filled with great accessory options. If I were to take the subway and someone wanted to take the bag, all they needed to do was undo the clips and off goes the bag. I personally felt the DA messenger bag with exposed strap clip connectors was a security risk. During the review process, one of the glaring requirements for a bag to be rated well, is the security of the bag. But, the bag was not without its shortcomings. We feel the design took cues from the industry in what worked and what really didn’t. This bag initially blew our minds with its laser cut molle webbing and the usability of the bag. The DA Messenger was one of the two first experiences with Direct Action Gear. So, here is my top 5 that I continue to use from a daily, a weekly or a situational based rotation.ĥ – Direct Action Gear – Messenger – LARGE Yavor and I have logged several bag reviews, myself leading the review process being that I have had the opportunity to start with the bag obsession much earlier. And the gear that we do decide to keep with us, we demand the most from it. Wanting the gear that can adjust to our lives. However, with differences aside, we both have the same mentality of life. Yavor is the ever travelling road-warrior, while I am the urban explorer that needs to have his electronics with him while I work on the run. But, if you have taken any time in reading our reviews, he and I differ not only in opinion, but also lifestyle. We have been enjoying the process in pooling our experiences and our opinions of the bags Yavor and I have taken interest in. Officially, we have been doing this reviewing thing for a little less than a year, unofficially we have been looking for and testing bags for a while.
